framingandfigures.com is published by Harmony For Humanity LLC, 1309 Coffeen Avenue STE 1200, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, USA ("we", "us"). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

Information only, not advice

Everything here is general information for a United States audience. It is not legal, tax, accounting, insurance or surety advice, and using the site does not create any professional or client relationship with us. Our editor is not an attorney, CPA, insurance producer or surety agent.

Rules change, they differ by state and by project, and a page that is right in general can be wrong for your job. Before you act on anything you read here (a bid number, a bond figure, a retainage limit, a filing deadline), confirm it with the official agency or with a licensed professional who knows your situation.

Using the calculators and templates

The calculators run in your browser and are free to use in your own business. Their output is only as good as the inputs and assumptions you give them, and every calculator shows its formula and a worked example so you can check it.

Templates are starting points. Read them, adapt them, and have anything that will bind you reviewed by your own professional before you sign or send it.

You must not present a calculator result, a template or any page from this site as professional advice, as a certification, or as our opinion about your specific project.

Our content, and how you may reuse it

• Data tables: our compiled state rules tables, rate tables and conversion tables, as published on our pages and in our /data/ downloads, are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0). You may copy, adapt and republish them, including commercially, if you credit us and link back. • Downloadable templates: the spreadsheets and Word forms at /templates/ are © Harmony For Humanity LLC. They are free for use in your business; not for resale. They are not covered by the CC BY license.
• Statutes and regulations quoted on the site are public records and belong to no one.
• Our prose, page design and code are © Harmony For Humanity LLC and are not covered by the CC BY license. Short quotations with attribution are fine; republishing an article is not.

What you must not do

• Scrape or download at a scale or rate that burdens the service or degrades it for other visitors.
• Republish our prose wholesale, or strip attribution from data you took under CC BY 4.0.
• Use the site's material to imply that we endorse you, your company or your product, or that we reviewed work we did not review.
• Interfere with the site's operation or security, or attempt to access anything not published for visitors.

No warranty

We work hard to be accurate (primary sources, dated figures, a public corrections log), but the site is provided "as is" and we make no warranties of any kind about it, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be available without interruption, or that every figure is current, complete or correct.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising out of your use of this site, including lost profits, a mispriced bid, a rejected claim, a missed deadline, or a penalty. You are responsible for verifying anything you rely on. Some states do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud, or for gross negligence or willful misconduct where your state's law does not allow it to be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top changes when we do, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep every protection of the law of the state where you live that cannot be taken away by agreement. We have not chosen a court in advance: if a disagreement cannot be settled by writing to us first, it goes to a court that has jurisdiction over it.
