We would rather be corrected than be quoted wrongly. If a figure, citation or calculator result on this site is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.

How to report an error

Email [email protected] with the subject line Correction: <page URL>. Include the figure or sentence you are questioning, what you believe is correct, and a source if you have one. You can report an error from any page on the site.

What we do with it

We check the report against the primary source: the statute, the agency page, the IRS/DOL/SSA publication, or the vendor's pricing page. If we were wrong, we correct the page and add a dated line to the log below. If we were right, we reply and tell you why, and if the page was merely unclear we rewrite it.

We fix substantive errors as soon as we have confirmed them. Typos and formatting fixes are made silently and are not logged. Corrections that change a number, a rule, a citation or a conclusion are always logged. We do not edit them away quietly.
